Can I hire a rifle for my Botswana safari?
Camp rifle hire can be requested by booked Hunter Troopers guests. Exact make, calibre, scope, ammunition allocation and fee are confirmed in the written quotation.
Which rifle calibres can I request?
Request categories include .308 or .30-06 class for standard plains game, .300 Magnum class for open-country plains game and .375 class where a heavier set-up is appropriate. These are request classes, not guaranteed inventory.
Is ammunition included in the safari package?
No. Rifle hire and ammunition are quoted separately so the written quotation can match the rifle, target list and current availability.
Can I bring my own rifle into Botswana?
Yes, subject to Botswana’s temporary firearm and ammunition permit requirements and any airline or transit-country rules that apply to your route.
When should I start the Botswana firearm permit?
Botswana’s government guidance says to start at least two weeks before arrival and lists a 14-working-day service time. Begin earlier when airline or transit permits are also required.
